one of the worst things about working in an office setting is not being able to discern which sounds i should be paying attention to. i really have the hardest time with sound and noise. my brain wants to focus on everything - i can’t stay attentive to one thing.
like now. i’m on a conference call, but i can’t make myself pay attention to the call alone, i keep hearing my (loudest) coworker having a phone conversation, clicks of the mouse from my nearby colleague, and all the other office sounds of typing, moving paperwork, just… everything.
